The call of the curlew is an iconic sound of the British countryside, but one that is fading fast. Welsh farmer, Wynford Jones, has just one pair of birds left on his farm and he is determined they will not be the last. Partnering with the conservation group Curlew Country, he does everything he can to help his curlews’s breed successfully. But will Wynford’s new chicks survive the summer?
Billy made Keeper of the Call as part of his Masters degree in Wildlife Filmmaking at UWE. Now, he is a researcher at the BBC Natural History Unit in Bristol.
